An “NPC” (Non-Player Character) in Garry’s Mod is any character controlled by the game’s AI. Unlike a “Player Model” (which is your character) or a “Nextbot” (which usually just chases you), these NPCs often have more complex behaviors. How to Use NPCs in Your Game
Using these addons is incredibly simple. Once you’ve subscribed to an NPC from the Steam Workshop, you can spawn it directly into your world:
- Open your Spawn Menu (usually by holding the ‘Q’ key).
- On the right side of the menu, you will see a list of categories. Click on the “NPCs” tab.
- You will see a list of all the custom NPCs you have installed. Simply click on the one you want to spawn.
- The NPC will appear in front of you, ready to follow its programmed behavior.
